About Us

Conception of the idea

It was Halloween, The gang where all in Camden London dressed up in our best gothic horror or burlesque outfits to see the legendary Alice Cooper play a special Halloween concert to a packed Roundhouse.

The atmosphere was intoxicating most people looked like they had cut their teeth on the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Alice Cooper was the complete showman as always. In our little group we had leather trench coats, top hats, vampire shirts, long gloves, fasinators, costume jewelrey, exotic shoes, big boots, stockings and lots and lots of corsetry............

Ezme was in her finest whitchery with cloak and all, very much living her namesakes persona as Granny Ezmarelda Weatherwax in her younger days (of Terry Pratchett fame). Plenty of perception and razor sharp wit, although somehow she gets lots of Nanny Ogg in there too.

Patricia in boots, leather corset, stockings and all her gothic finery brooding menace and ouzing sex appeal like Mortica Adams mets Nigella Lawson.....

Vannessa looking every inch a movie star, immaculately turned out in fine satins and silk that she had perfectly distressed for the occassion. Think Audrey Hepburn does serial axe murder... with her usual eye for detail and lots of hand made finishing touches.

Boris was there looking like a prototype German Industrial Goth in rubber, and a variety of plastics (he doesn`t do dead animal), but he could easily fit into a Rammstein spin off project. He was modelling a fantasic cyber style trousers and boots with Cure style make-up and ripped mesh top.....

Warf was looking his normal self as some kind of eternal Biker/Metal/Goth who would have been at the first gigs of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Marilyn Mansun and possibly even sampling the goods above the chemist in Leeds when The Sisters of Mercy where conceived. Leather coat, white deathly face, spiked hair, vampire shirt and something interesting underneath no doubt....

We had leather, lace, latex, silk, satin, stainless steel, and velvet.
All combined make us look spectacular and feel fantastic.

At some point the seed was sown.........

Perhaps it was on the long journey home from the "Big City" to our provincial towns, as we talked about the show, the people, the clothes .....

Patricia said, "wouldn`t it be great if we didn`t have to go to London to get stuff, all the stuff on the high street is so boring, it`s all meant for kids not people like us."

I think Ezme said "yeah but we can get it all if you search the web and Vanessa makes her own stuff".

But Warf said "True but we could do it ourselves, we could be the place people go on the web and besides the more people wearing stockings the better" . That's Warf always a bit dubious on his motives, but quick to see alternatives.

The concept geminated over November and then after a few conversations sometime around Christmas work began on the "Project" which soon became Stockings-Corsets (.co.uk) - after all why be shy about what you are about.
